Nordic Tug 49
The birth of a classic. The idea that grew to become today's Nordic Tugs had its origin in the fuel crisis of the mid-1970s: build a fuel-stingy vessel that combined the attributes important to the cruising powerboater. It proved to be one of those rare ideas not only appropriate for its time, but an idea whose virtues are still relevant today... Our story begins in the early `70s, when Jerry Husted purchased Blue Water Boats, a company that manufactured double-ended ocean ketches of the Norwegian "Ingrid" design, from Jim Musser. Musser introduced Husted to Lynn Senour, the naval architect who designed the interiors and rigs of Musser's boat. That combination of circumstances proved prophetic.

Nordic Tug 39
With the nostalgic appeal and notable fuel economy (1/2 gallon per hour at 6-1/2 knots), Nordic Tugs became an immediate success. Yachting Magazine had this to say about the innovative design, "There is something about a tugboat that makes people take to it instantly. Women want to mother it and grown men grin when they see one. Perhaps it's because so many of us learned to love `Lil Toot.` Tugs were always tubby, likeable characters, brightly painted and doers of heroic deeds."

Nordic Tug 26
Nordic Tugs went on to build two versions of the original 26' design, originally named the Red Apple, a cruiser, and the Cricket, a short cabin, open-aft deck model used primarily as a fishing vessel. The two boats were presented at the Oakland Boat Show and over 18,000 people stopped by to check out the newest boating sensation. The stylish, well-built boats with their fuel-efficient design and flexible cruising speeds proved to have lasting appeal. In 1982, the Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA) dubbed Nordic Tugs "one of the biggest success stories of a largely depressed pleasure boat construction scene."

Avon Coastline Liferaft - 6 Perons
The Avon Coastline buoyancy tube is divided into two separate chambers. The Coastline liferaft also uses a high-quality inflation system. Whilst Avon Coastline rafts are intended for use close to shore, where the chances of an early rescue are far greater, the emergency pack still complies with the standard laid down by the Offshore Racing Committee of the Royal Ocean Racing Club.

Avon Ocean Liferaft - 8 Persons
The Avon standard Ocean-going liferaft has many features, including vacuum packing for extra stowed protection, more internal headroom, easier boarding, greater night time visibility, and a new weighted ladder. The buoyancy tubes are made of tough heavy-duty nylon, calendered with a specially formulated neoprene, for maximum air retention and resistance to weathering. Each of the two independent buoyancy tubes is capable of supporting the full complement the raft has been designed for, whilst retaining the full floor area. The standard inflatable double floor helps to retain body heat in cold waters.

Deltastar Workboat 33
The 33 Workboat represents a new dimension in the sports-fishing and fast workboat market. It is a wide bodied, very beamy vessel featuring a massively reinforced grp hull ( full commercial fishing boat specification) and high freeboard. The 33 Workboat also has a very distinctive and purposeful look resulting from a lantern style wheelhouse and modern raised whaleback. The combination of this style of this deckworks and the inherent beam of this new hull, means that the 33 compares favourably, in terms of accommodation space and working area, with vessels of ten metres or more. All grp construction including gunwhales, bulkwarks and main deck - makes for a low maintenance and greater appeal for the home completion enthusiast. If you are looking for a really , solidly built, roomy and seaworthy vessel, with more than a fair turn of speed, take a long look at the new 33 Workboat - it is a generation ahead.
